International Data extends beyond a Canadian perspective. These sources and data focus on other countres, and can often be used to explore concepts and principles applicable to Canadians. 

  • Data at ESRI
    Includes a browsable online catalogue, as well as free downloadable data.

  • United Nations Statistics Division
    The United Nations Statistics Division provides a wide range of statistical outputs and services for producers and users of statistics worldwide. On this site you will find statistics for a wide variety of social indicators, from water supply to housing to unemployment, for countries around the world. Global population data is also directly available.

  • University of Maryland, Global Land Cover Facility (GLCF)
    The GLCF is a center for land cover science with a focus on research using remotely sensed satellite data and products to assess land cover change for local to global systems.

  • NASA Applied Sciences Directorate, John C. Stennis
    Space Center Landstat data available in mrsid format, a common compressed images.
