Description
In the early fall of 2005 Nisga'a Lisims Government undertook the development of its Emergency Planning Maps with the purpose being to aid in the direct response to potential disasters in the Nass Valley.

Data was collected over a two year period, with draft maps sent to each of the four Nisga'a Villages at various stages of completion requesting input and local area knowledge. The finished product of an Overview Map & the four individual village maps series detail all possible relevant information for emergency planning at the local and regional levels.
