Oak Hammock Marsh Watershed Legacy ProjectThe Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre (a joint project of Ducks Unlimited Canada and Manitoba Conservation) has recently piloted a Watershed Legacy Project using ESRI's ArcIMS (Internet Map Server) technology to expand their conservation outreach. This unique project is currently offered to Grade 10 - 12 students and is an opportunity to work with GIS and GPS technologies on a watershed-based project.The project gives students an opportunity to appreciate how their community fits in with the natural watershed. Additionally, students gain this understanding while developing skills in GPS and internet-based GIS applications.
