Description
The Alberta Government encourages the responsible development of the 174 billions barrels of proven oil reserves in the 140,800 square kilometers making up the three oil sands areas. Appropriate regulations and environmental protection are in place to minimize the footprint on the land. This map is one of a series of maps used to facilitate Oil Sands Consultation Open Houses held in Northern Alberta
