Description
This map is an overview of the 2006 fire events that had an impact on the residents of the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen.  They utilized a raster mosaic of fire extents to provide a temporal display of fire progression across the affected landscapes. 

Using a visibility on this layer allows them to see the topography of the hillshade layer beneath - displaying the relationship between fire growth and topography.  This type of display is useful for understanding the spatial aspects of fire behavior and facilitates the decision making process for local evacuation planning.
