Toronto, ON - ESRI Canada is pleased to announce its Student Scholarship Award Program, which is supporting 31 students across Canada with scholarships. ESRI Canada's Student Scholarship Award Program supports students who are currently enrolled in advanced geographic information system (GIS) programs at Canadian Colleges and Universities. The Scholarship Award Program is one of the many ways that ESRI Canada supports GIS in education.
"ESRI Canada has always been a strong supporter of GIS in education and we are delighted to provide students with a scholarship - it's a great way for ESRI Canada to give back to the GIS community," said Alex Miller, President, ESRI Canada. "It is our hope that this award will help engage students to continue with studies in GIS, and potentially consider it as a career." The ESRI Canada Student Scholarship Award Program is sponsored by ESRI Canada and ESRI Inc. The Award provides students with a one-time payment to assist with tuition fees. In addition, students receive a full suite of ESRI software, a collection of ESRI GIS books, access to ESRI developed Virtual Campus courses, and a complimentary registration for one of ESRI Canada's regional user conferences. GIS is becoming an integral part of the education community in K-12 schools and school boards, colleges and universities, libraries, and museums across Canada. ESRI Canada is deeply committed to supporting GIS and Geography education in Canada as demonstrated by our Schools and Libraries Program that is dedicated to raising the awareness of GIS in schools, school boards, libraries, and museums across Canada.
