Regina, SK - The Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan (ISC) was recently presented with an Award of Excellence at ESRI Canada's ESRI Regional User Conference in Regina. Mark Nguyen, ESRI Canada Account Manager, presented the Award in recognition of ISC providing GIS solutions to meet the business needs of their many customers.
ISC is responsible for the administration of land titles, surveys, and GIS services and products in Saskatchewan. They were one of the first adopters of ESRI technology in Saskatchewan, using it as the foundation for their information management workflow. "ISC was selected as this year's recipient of the ESRI Canada award of excellence as a result of their dedication to providing the province of Saskatchewan with GIS-based land data," said Mark Nguyen, ESRI Canada Account Manager. "Since the corporation began in 2000, ISC has initiated numerous GIS projects aimed at improving customer service and response time. In recent years, ISC has released regular data updates to cadastral customers, ensuring more accurate and up-to-date information for decision-making, saving users time and money." This year, ISC launched the Sask Grid project, which will extend the province's traditional Dominion Land Survey system (township grid) to the northern portion of the province, and will offer detailed coverage compatible with the existing southern grid. The Sask Grid project will provide excellent value to oil and gas, mining, government departments, and other users of cadastral data who have long expressed the need for a current standardized data set for reference and mapping purposes. ISC provides staff with cutting edge ESRI tools including ArcInfo, ArcView, and ArcIMS, to access and maintain GIS data. External clients can access cadastral data and maps through the ArcIMS web mapping application. "We don't just want to meet customer needs, our people are working hard to be innovative and exceed customer expectations, whenever possible," said Wayne Adams, ISC Director of Surveys and Mapping. "ESRI has been a valued partner supporting us in our pursuit of excellence." In 2007, ISC has plans to provide an enhanced online spatial web search portal for Registry Services that includes land titles, survey plans, and parcel information. In addition, ISC will play a leadership role in the development of a centralized map distribution function for Saskatchewan and will review options for the creation of a one-stop centralized web service for customers.
