Description This map shows avalanche paths that affect a transportation corridor in B.C. The avalanche paths were identified by Ava Terra Services Inc. using air and orthophotos in addition to site visits. Both avalanche paths that have affected the transportation corridor in the past as well as paths that could reach the transportation corridor in the future were delineated on the map.
A map book and strip maps of the entire area were developed to be used by maintenance personnel during winter operations to assist in identifying potentially hazardous areas, and by planning personnel to identify locations for future avalanche control measures and structures.
