Focus on Our Environment: York Region's State of the Environment Report 2005 provides an update on the current state of the environment, highlights initiatives, addresses concerns, and provides a planning tool for the future.

Data was collected, extensive spatial analysis was conducted, and findings were mapped, illustrating relationships between land use designations, infrastructure, and natural features.

Maps highlighted in the York Region State of the Environment Report 2005 and interactive internet maps have been made available to the public. Internet users can navigate through York Region's landscape and discover the environment from a unique perspective by visiting YorkExplorer at http://www.york.ca/.
