TV & Web

Seeing is believing. When a viewer can fly through Afghanistan to see all of the reconstruction efforts that are taking place, they just get it.

GIS offers compelling new story telling device for television and web producers. Traditional boundaries separating graphic, map, and video are blurring to provide news organizations new ways to give an accurate portrayal of the real world.

GIS adds another component by allowing you to provide a detailed view of the location in question. For example, during the devastating Southern California wildfires in October 2003, ESRI's ArcGlobe was used to provide birds-eye views of all the fires on the backdrop of a 3D map.

More recently, ESRI Canada has been actively assisting government agencies and private organizations that need help in responding to recent hurricanes, including a collection of map and data resources for tracking the progress and analyzing the effects of these hurricanes.
