Description
The idea behind the design of the geoscape poster was to incorporate a base map of the Canadian Cordillera using satellite imagery. The correct satellite imagery was obtained from http://www.landcover.org/ (Global Land Cover Facility). The focus of the poster is the base map with picture and text insets around the perimeter of the poster to show the four geomorphologic belts, the most significant geological sites studied, and the pictures that correlate to the sites. To incorporate the fourteen most significant geologic stops on the field map, and panoramic scenes, the poster was designed to be 48"x36". The poster includes symbols instead of lines to match the insets to the stops along the route, making it easy to ready and view the satellite imagery.
