Patches/Localization

  • NTv2: The National Transformation Version 2 (NTv2) grid shift files provide a national standard for transforming coordinates between the NAD27 and NAD83 reference systems. To use the Canadian National Transformation Version 2 method in ArcGIS you will need to download the appropriate files.

K-12 Resources

  • Lessons
    A variety of lessons, for both ArcView 3.x and ArcView 8.x/9.x, are available for download on the K-12 website. These lessons are designed as a ready-to-print resource for teachers to print and hand out to students, to get started with GIS in their classrooms. The lessons use a combination of downloadable datasets and data from ArcCanada, a dataset specifically designed for classroom use. There is also a web-based GIS lesson available that leverages the Geography Network Canada.
  • Tutorials
    These tutorials are intended for teachers as a "how-to" guide for various GIS operations that are commonly used in the classroom. Tutorials are available for ArcView 3.x and ArcView 8.x/9.x. Topics include geoprocessing, buffering, hotlinking/hyperlinking, data creation, and more.
