Toronto, ON - ESRI Canada, a leading geographic information system (GIS) software provider, is collaborating with IDS Scheer Canada, SAP Canada Inc., and Loki Innovations (RIVA Modeling) to deliver an enterprise infrastructure management system to the City of Kitchener. The enterprise system will be tightly integrated with Kitchener's corporate financial programs and introduce a comprehensive infrastructure management system that will be used to track work orders and accounts, contracts and projects, and service requests.
"We are pleased to be a part of the team that is bringing state-of-the-art financial and asset management reporting capabilities to the City of Kitchener," said John Houweling, Ontario Regional Manager, ESRI Canada. "By increasing their capacity to manage municipal infrastructure, Kitchener should find it easier to attain their service delivery goals." The project is expected to take just over a year to complete and will cover all Public Works departments including Kitchener Utilities (Water and Gas). ESRI Canada will be working in conjunction with IDS Scheer Canada to integrate Cityworks and SAP. In addition to using Cityworks for traditional asset management, they have added SAP's asset accounting capabilities to track associated financial costs making it possible to pinpoint expenses for a single asset over a period of time and/or a particular area or region. Together ArcGIS, RIVA Modeling, and SAP software present a complete enterprise asset management software solution that has been specifically designed and architected to bring together the financial and non-financial data required for PSAB compliance. Once fully implemented, it is expected that the solution will improve business processes, increase reliability and improve the City's overall operational efficiency. "We are pleased to find a software solution that has GIS capabilities built-in," said Michael Bolger, Manager of Business Systems & Services, City of Kitchener." This combination of software vendors and products deliver the flexibility to conform to our data structures and systems and the extensibility to provide us with a truly enterprise system." -30- About ESRI Canada:
