Key Features

High Quality Data for Better Informed Decision Making

ArcGIS Business Analyst for Canada includes an extensive library of Canadian data from industry leading data providers.

Demographic Data- Environics Analytics has provided almost 1,200 demographic variables including current-year (2007) estimates and five-year (2012) projections. These variables, augmented by 2001 Census of Canada data and Household Expenditure Potential figures, are available at all popular geographic levels: province, census division, census subdivision, census metropolitan area, census tract, federal electoral district, dissemination area, and postal forward sortation areas (FSAs).

Business Data - A comprehensive database of Canadian businesses has been compiled and made available through infoUSA/infoCanada. This database represents the most accurate up-to-date database of Canadian businesses.  It is a proprietary, copyrighted database that contains information on approximately 1.3 million Canadian businesses. Data is compiled from over 300 yellow page telephone directories and new businesses listings from public record notices. The database undergoes a complete verification process conducted by telephone annually.  The database provides clients with the ability to obtain non-mailable lists of businesses by trade area based on industry class (SIC), employee counts, and sales volume.

Segmentation Data - Environics Analytics has created a customer profiling system titled PRIZM CE.  PRIZM CE classifies Canadian neighbourhoods into 66 distinct market segments based on the most important drivers of consumer behaviour: demographics, lifestyles, and values.  This data is available in the standard Business Analyst for Canada data package at the Census Tract (CT) level.  For customer profiling at a more refined level, the PRIZM CE segmentation system can be upgraded to segmentation at the Dissemination Area (DA) level which closely corresponds to the six digit postal code level.

Imagery - GlobeXplorer's imagery service provides a collection of high-quality aerial and satellite imagery that is regularly updated and expanded. These images can be used in reports and projects that require visual details of properties, neighbourhoods, and towns

Shopping Center Data - The Canadian Directory of Shopping Centres compiled by Rogers Publishing offers a national file of major shopping centres, the largest 400 of which are included.  The file contains: centre name; address and intersection; centre type and anchor tenants; centre type; year opened; total store count; parking spaces; and gross leasable area (GLA).  This database contains the most current and comprehensive data available.

Street Information - Street data from DynamapTransportation, the flagship product from Tele Atlas North America, provides a nationwide basemap for routing and drive-time analysis.
