Tools for Implementing Your Own Business Rules

PLTS Foundation provides the essential functionality within each of the PLTS Solutions for users who require managed quality control, cartographic production, database editing, and work flow management tools. PLTS Foundation also allows users to create their own customized solutions by implementing their own business rules in data modeling, attribution, validation, and output. PLTS Foundation includes the following components:

  • GIS Data ReViewer, a data quality control management application that simplifies many aspects of automated and visual spatial data quality control tasks
  • Map Production System Atlas, a cartographic production application that provides tools for the production of high-quality, high-volume map products; automated map book and atlas creation; and grid creation based on product specifications
  • Foundation Tools, an application that provides single-click editing tools as well as data import and export tools, which allow users to perform large-volume data migration tasks.

PLTS Foundation provides tools that are universally usable while allowing users to define their own geodatabase model, map series, and symbology definitions. Business rules are implemented in Valid Value Tables (VVTs) and Condition Tables (CNTs) that extend rule-based attribute capture and validation and map symbology. Database-driven cartography allows symbolization from multiple feature attributes and provides sophisticated, consistent map rendering. Through managed quality control, spatial and attribute errors are recorded in an error table for easy correction and revisiting.
