With FME, organizations dealing with different types of data stored in different places can,
- Combine data from multiple sources into a single translation run
- Join disparate systems
- Extend lifetimes of legacy systems through interoperability
- Exchange data between CAD-based systems and GIS systems
- Perform quality assurance tests on spatial data
FME Components
FME contains three core components:
- Workbench: A point-and-click interface that makes performing very sophisticated processing tasks a breeze.
- Universal Viewer: This utility allows quick viewing of data formats. Users can preview translation data (attributes and geometry), before performing translations using Workbench or Universal Translator.
- Universal Translator: Users can easily transfer and save data into as many as 150 different formats via a drag-and-drop interface.
