Single Map Sheet Production

Map Production System-Atlas facilitates the production of hard-copy map and charting products and automates the process of single map sheet generation. Map series, or template information, is stored in a map series geodatabase.

Source data, projects, products, and map sheets are cataloged and spatially managed in the Project and Map Sheet Catalog geodatabase.

The information provided from these two databases automates the process of map sheet generation. MPS provides a number of industry-standard surround elements and symbol styles that can be used in any map product you choose.

Batch Map Sheet Production

Map Production System-Atlas combines map book functionality, dynamic text, data frame managers, and a graphic element layout management environment into a powerful and easy-to-use batch cartographic system.

Any geodatabase feature class as an area of interest index for the batch creation of multiple maps. Several hundred maps can be created as simply and in the same time frame as a single map. Maps can be batch printed, batch exported, and batch saved to individual files.

Dynamic text provides the capability to feed text in the map layout as a variable from any attribute within the current layers in the map. Dynamic text also provides the ability to return dates, map properties, and data frame properties. All these can be formatted and will dynamically update on the page as the map or the database is updated.

The graphic element environment allows renaming of each element on the page in order to manage element placement rules. Element placement rules allow you to set relative rules for the placement of elements in the page layout. This makes it possible for page layouts to be dynamic.
