    Oxford County, located in the heart of rural southwestern Ontario is an advanced and progressive user of GIS as well as one of ESRI's first clients. Current issues regarding the purification of Oxford's water have been resolved by creating a groundwater navigator using ESRI ArcIMS software.

  • The FishWizard- High Tech Fish Finding (4.6MB)
    British Columbia Fisheries have developed the FishWizard, as simple, Internet mapping tool for finding and viewing BC fisheries-related information in government databases. The FishWizard is powered by ESRI's ArcIMS.

  • BC Education Ministry Selects ArcView (1.2MB)
    The BC Ministry of Education's decision to license ArcView GIS to all publicly funded schools will tremendously benefit both students and teachers. ESRI Canada's ArcView GIS will give students the opportunity to acquire skills that can be applied to the real world.

  • Innovation in the Sault (310KB)
    Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre and EDS Canada have been working together to develop and implement a comprehensive Geodatabase model. Using ArcView 8.1 to integrate the municipality's land base, water, sewer, administrative, electric and telecommunications information; the model is designed to provide a complete decision support mechanism for the City of Sault Ste. Marie and the local Public Utilities Commission.

  • Burnaby Collaborates Using ArcIMS (310KB)
    The City of Burnaby, BC decided to use GIS for their business needs. Their goal was to create a simplistic program for engineers, clerks, planners and fire engineers none of which are technical GIS professionals. The feedback was positive and the program was successful.

  • GIS in the District School Board of Niagara (310KB)
    Grades 9 to OAC students from the District School Board of Niagara participated in the first annual "showcase of talents" to promote GIS. Students were given 2 hours to create a set of maps and presentations using ArcView GIS from an open-ended scenario.
