Project Manager, ESG - Montreal or Quebec (ESG13-08)
ESRI Canada's Enterprise Solutions Group has an exceptional professional opportunity for a Project Manager focusing on enterprise solutions. Based out of our Montreal or Quebec City office, you will leverage your knowledge and experience in leading GIS solutions based on ESRI technology.
As a Project Manager, you will contribute to the ongoing business operations of the company by effectively providing high-level management and delivery of assigned consulting projects and other client services. The successful candidate will also be responsible to provide senior-level technical expertise in the user needs analysis, design, development and implementation of the client solutions.
Project Manager responsibilities include:
- Scope projects and develop complete project charters and project plans for all assigned projects.
- Ensure the smooth delivery of projects as specified in the project charter and project plan
- Monitor and control all project activities throughout the complete project life-cycle
- Aid in business development initiatives and the development of ESG consulting services opportunities.
- Negotiate with clients with respect to project scope, deliverables, timelines, resources and acceptance
- Provide mentorship and coordinate project staff in modeling client requirements and defining functional specifications and system architecture
- Teach / coach project staff in ESRI project management and development methodologies.
- Produce status and other project reports as required
- Manage day to day communications with clients
- Work closely with Account Managers and project team to manage client expectations and ensure project objectives are met
- Providing senior-level technical expertise in the user needs analysis, design, development and implementation of the client solutions
- Working with other Consultant(s) in the design of client solutions from conception to completion (as required)
Specific skill requirements:
- 7+ years experience with GIS and/or IT applications
- 2+ years experience as a project manager in GIS/IT projects
- Proven knowledge and experience as a senior consultant in GIS/IT projects
- Knowledge and experience with ESRI products
- Knowledge of development methodologies (OOAD), tool sets (VB, C++, UML) and database platforms (Oracle/SQL Server)
- University degree in computer science, math or equivalent education and experience
