GIS Analyst (WI01-08)
The Prairie Region has an exceptional professional opportunity for a GIS Analyst based out of our Winnipeg office. The ideal candidate will contribute to the ongoing business operations of the company through the sale, promotion, and marketing of all company products. This will be in accordance with budgeted objectives and requirements in a timely, discreet, and ethical manner.
As a GIS Analyst, you will contribute to the ongoing business operations of the company by effectively providing superior consulting, training, sales process and customer support.
GIS Analyst responsibilities include:
- To report directly to the Senior GIS Consultant, Manitoba office, on an ongoing basis and communicate all relevant matters pertaining to training, marketing/sales and client service
- To teach certified ESRI training courses (desktop software and introductory courses)
- Respond to technical questions presented by a client or prospect during pre and post sales activities
- Effectively communicate ESRI product information and provide product recommendations most suitable to client requirements
- Assist with database design, application support and design of client applications from conception to completion when assigned to a client project
- Provide technical expertise for sales and marketing strategies
- Attend consulting meetings, seminars and conferences and actively participate, communicate and "add value" to these meetings
- Maintain a high technical level of knowledge in ESRI products and to maintain up-to-date familiarity with products offered by competitors on an ongoing basis
- To participate co-operatively as an employee within the company Performance Appraisal Process and Merit Rating System
- Actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the Region as well as other departments across the company
- To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives
- To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Senior GIS Consultant or Regional Manager in a timely and professional manner.
Specific skill requirements:
- University degree in computer science or geography (GIS)
- Minimum 1 year related work experience, or equivalent in GIS education / training
- Experience in ESRI GIS products

Considered as assets for this position are the following:
- Experience in training and educating customers
- Certification in ESRI courses
